Research Scientist at NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center
Interdisciplinary geoscientist and sediment transport enthusiast
I am a coastal geomorphologist at the NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center. Broadly, my research integrates geomorphology, sedimentology, and geospatial science to analyze and interpret landscape evolution, with a scope ranging from modern fluvial systems to ancient shallow marine basins. In my work I use a wide variety of field methods, laboratory experiments, and numerical modeling. My most current research investigates how geomorphic processes in Puget Sound estuaries contribute to suitable habitat for salmon. I have also taught courses in Earth Systems Science, Earth History, Sedimentology and Stratigraphy, and Sea-Level Change.
